Janice plays percussion, and Samuel is a harmonica-playing, sunglasses-wearing blues man who has opted to give up on playing late nights at clubs and bars with bands for a different kind of audience. "In 2002 I was introduced to Samuel Lozada of Gary, Indiana who most generously turned me on to the wonderful experience of sharing music with seniors and patients rehabilitating from illness and Alzheimer's sufferers. His joy and passion for giving was infectious and convinced me to begin my journey to sharing my gift of music."

"Everyone LOVED this show. This was the largest audience we ever had at any of our musical programs!"
"The coolest thing about being a freelance writer is meeting extraordinary people I wouldn't meet otherwise and seeing interesting places I might not otherwise visit...There was Samuel Lozada, who performs for nursing home residents. I went to spend a couple minutes snapping pictures of him during a show and didn't want to leave. I finally headed out teary-eyed after his energetic harmonica playing had residents rising from wheelchairs to dance."
Superb harp Samuel! Baby Please showcases your talent so well! Move over Magic Dick! Samuel Lozada is movin in! Excellent!

On Saturday, February 20th, at 11:30 am, Mo Beat Blues performed at the Maywood Public Library District. Along with music, Mo Beat Blues also discussed the history of Blues, an African American form of music.
At one of my shows I met Miss Georgie
who is about 85 years young. She called me over because she had something to say. I had my recorder on for recording my shows, and when I got home to playback the recording, it just blew me away.
We were overwhelmed and just can't say enough about how the folks and staff treated us.
Thank you audience and the staff...

Hi Loana - I save many of the RAILS emails with recommendations of performers, and I noticed that you were scheduled to host Mo Beat Blues at your library last summer. It's been a while, but I'd be interested in your feedback. Please let me know if you'd recommend him and/or his duo.

Hi Roz,
Samuel and Janice Lozada were here 2 summers ago. I thought he was marvelous. He and his wife played to a crowd of seven (☹) but treated the crowd as if it was a sold out concert. I wish more people had attended, but our library doesn’t seem to do well with music events unless it’s for families. If I was to have him here again, I would advertise as a family event. His harmonica playing is awesome. He has somewhere near 20 harmonicas he plays with. The program would be money well spent -- well worth whatever he is charging these days. He is professional, engaging, and a superb performer.
Please let me know if I can provide any more information.
Thanks,

To Janice Lozada
Janice,
We were thankful that Sam was able to make it to Greencastle and back home again with all the bad weather we had on ONE weekend! The ladies did enjoy Sam's performance very much. He was entertaining - and funny. A lot of our older ladies were singing along with some of the songs. We were all impressed with his skill on the harmonica! His music provided a wonderful close to our evening.
Thank you and blessings to both of you.
Judy

Hi Janice,
Sam did an excellent job yesterday! I got a lot of compliments from the residents today and how much they enjoyed him. I will definitely schedule him again in another month or two. I don't go on Social Media. But I would tell everyone he does a wonderful job and would definitely recommend him to others! He has a great sense of humor and love to hear the harmonica! I didn't realize he has so many. Thank you!
Thanks,
